Transport on the event

How to go
If participants go to the starting point by themselves, please take green minibus 20C at Tai Po Market Railway Station till its terminus at Wu Kau Tang, Tai Po.
Participants are welcomed to take shuttle bus arranged by the organizer. It is $12 for a single trip.
Shuttle Bus Ticket
Ticket can be brought during the briefing session or in our office (Prince Edward) by 28/12/2011
Participants must board on the designated time.

Recommended gears:

The organizer recommends participants to bring the following gears with you:

  • Compass
  • Map (provided by the organizer)
  • Whistle
  • Hiking stick
  • Hat
  • Torch/Headlight and battery
  • Water bottle / water bag with minimum 2 liters of water (please note: for saving the evrionment, the organizer will not provide bottled water)
  • A copy of Hong Kong Identity Card / travel documents
  • A little amount of cash
  • First-aid kit (including disinfectant, tape, bandage and gauze pad etc.)
  • Personal medicine / knee pad / ankle pad
  • High energy food and emergency food (min. 500 grams or 1000 kcal)
  • One set of protective / spare clothes, keep it dry by storing in a plastic bag
  • Raincoat / umbrella
  • Sun block / mosquito repellent
  • Radio and battery
  • A pocket knife

Code of Safety:

Insurance The organizer has already purchased HK$2,000 Accidental Medical Insurance and HK$100,000 Death Insurance. However, participants are still recommended to purchase related insurances by themselves.
Pull out of the event Before pulling out of the event, participants must inform and seek for support from our staff of the nearest checkpoint.
Injury during the race
Participants should not leave your teammate alone regardless any situation (if applicable). If a team member is injured or exhausted, other team members must deliver the injured to the nearest checkpoint to ask for help.
If a participant is seriously injured or unable to walk, please call the official emergency hotline: 6760 5659, with clearing indicating the location and wait for rescue.
To make sure that the organizer can carry out rescue as soon as possible, each participant is highly recommended to carry one or two mobile phone(s) with ample battery and please clearly indicate your race number, location, state of injury and contact number of the participant concerned.

Arrangement for bad weather / emergency

> Before registration

  1. If Hong Kong Observatory hoists typhoon signal no. 3 or above, red or black rainstorm, or thunderstorm warning before 6:00am on 1st January 2012 or during the event, or any unpredictable reason that causes the event unable to carry on, the organizer has the right to cancel / cease the event.

> During the race

  1. If facing bad weather during the event, participants should go to a safe place as soon as possible, then report your location to the organizer and wait for instruction or arrangement patiently.
  2. Participants should pay attention on the weather report from radio or hotline at 1878 200. You may also contact the organizer at 6760 5659 for the arrangement regarding bad weather.
